Dear Smith Family,

I, too, found Marshall inspiring at the Central High School hockey games. His ready smile, excellent sense of humor, and superlative intellect always radiated around him. He was a delight to have around. I feel profoundly sorry for your loss.

In the years I have known Marshall he was always the voice of reason. He always had a calming effect on everyone he was involved with. I learned and matured from my involvement with Mr. Smith. Marshall was fair, forthright and one of the most honest men I have ever been around. It was a refreshing experience knowing Marshall. Young people in the area will feel his loss as my family will. Marshall shall be missed for more reasons than can be mentioned here. God Bless the Smith Family at this time of loss
