Larry C. JOSWIAK

1939 - 2021

Age 81 Beloved husband of Sharon (Lamphere), passed away suddenly from cardiac arrest due to Covid-19 in The Villages, FL, on February 19, 2021. Larry was born September 12, 1939 in Amery, WI to Harry and Margaret (Christensen) Joswiak. After graduating from South St. Paul High School in 1957, Larry attended and played football for the College of St. Thomas. For three years, he proudly served his country in the USMC. He obtained his BA degree in business/ psychology from the University of MN and remained a loyal Gopher fan throughout his life. Marrying his high school sweetheart, Larry and Sharon started their family in South St. Paul. In addition to SSP, the Joswiaks lived in Rochester MN and Eau Claire and Green Bay WI. This explains Larry's ability to root for the Packers except when they played the Vikings. In 1975 Larry took a job as a State Farm Insurance Agent, subsequently spending 30 years with the company as Agent, Manager, and Agency Director before retiring in 2005. Cold winters and his love of golf brought Larry and Sharon to sunny Florida. Wintering in The Villages gave them the opportunity for golfing, spending time with friends, and hosting visitors, especially children and grandchildren. Larry had a deep love for his family that often expressed itself in great generosity. Having his family together for holidays and other events gave him great joy, pride, and gratitude. An avid reader, talented woodworker, and fisherman, Larry also enjoyed biking and golf. A faithful Catholic, Larry was involved at St. John Vianney parish in South St. Paul as a Trustee and Eucharistic Minister and enjoyed the fellowship of his FL parish St. Mark the Evangelist. Larry's loss is mourned by his wife of 59 years, and by children Laura (Steve) Johnson, Steve (Ellen) Joswiak, Catherine (Chris) Kisch, Susan (Andy) Israel, and Robert (Julie) Joswiak. Nineteen grandchildren will be missing their Papa and his enthusiastic support: Trevor, Christopher (Taylor), Madeline, Natalia and Elena Johnson, Kelsey, Thomas and Benjamin Joswiak, Karli, Maria, Michael and Kaity Grace Kisch, Jacqueline (Drew) Livermore, Kaitlyn, Sarah, and Allison Israel, and Anna, Adam and Amelia Joswiak. Larry had met and enjoyed his first great grandchild, Sofia Livermore, and looked forward to the June 2021 birth of Baby Johnson. He is survived by brothers Jerry (Julie) Joswiak, Ron (Lynn) Joswiak, sisters-in-law, Carol (Richard) Vasatka, Marilyn Locke and Diane (Paul) Radintz. His legacy of loving and honoring faith, family and friends continues. Due to Covid, a private funeral Mass and inurnment at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in South St. Paul, MN will be held at a later date. Memorials preferred to donor's choice, Saint John Vianney Parish or the South Saint Paul Educational Foundation.
