Laura Barbara "Flicker" Grundhofer, born June 13, 1911, Pierz, MN to the late Frank & Mary "Gross" Flicker. She grew up in Pier. Attended country school in the Pierz area through the eighth grade. Following her schooling, Laura remained on the family farm until she was united in marriage on June 13, 1934 to John A. Grundhofer at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz, MN. Laura & John operated the Rite Spot Bar in Buckman, MN from 19351938. The couple relocated to Glendale, CA. Laura and John had three children, John F. "Jack", Joan K. and Jerry A. Grundhofer. While her children were in school, she was very involved with the PTA and provided transportation to all the nuns at her children's school when needed. While living in California, she owned and operated a catering business for many years. Laura also worked 17 years at Sears in the accounting department in Glendale, CA. In 1992, Laura and John moved back to Pierz, MN. Her husband, John, died April 28, 1997. Following his death, Laura continued to live in her home in Pierz until June of 2005, when she became a resident of the Pierz Villa, residing there until her death. Laura was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz and the Christian Women. While in California, she was a member of the Daughters of Isabella. Laura was a very spiritual person. Her children, grandchildren and friends were a very important part of her life. Survived by her sons & daughter, John F. "Jack" Grundhofer & significant other, Patricia Meier, Plankinton, SD, Joan K. Briggs-Spritz & husband, Gary, Los Angeles, CA, Jerry A. Grundhofer & wife, Kathleen, Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Kathryn Grundhofer-Chatow & husband, Kevin, Mountain View, CA, Karen Grundhofer-Elkawa & husband, Hassan, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Jeffrey Briggs & wife, Jing, Alhambra, CA, Lauren Grundhofer Chicago, IL, six great-grandchildren and special family friends, Neil & Mary Korf, Pierz, MN and their children, Michael Korf, Julie Nielsen & husband, Ben, Becky Korf and Mark Korf. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and brothers, Werner, Raymond, Melvin & Ronald Flicker. Memorials will be given to Holy Trinity Grade School, c/o St. Joseph's Catholic Church, P.O.
