Leona LaPointe Obituary

Leona Mae LaPointe, age 84 of Garrison, died on January 3, 2010 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Brainerd. She was born on May 11, 1925 in Trimont, MN to August and Mary Kraft Nordhausen. She is survived by son Bryan (Jody) LaPointe of Lake Elmo; 2 grandchildren, Ryan (Lindsay) Hintze and Megan Hintze both of Hudson, WI; 2 great grandchildren and her canine companion, Max. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband John, 2 brothers, Leo and Richard Nordhausen; 2 sisters, Marie Winters and Dorothy Nordhausen; and a nephew Craig Winters. Funeral services will be 11:30 am Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Garrison. Burial will be at the Garrison Community Cemetery. Friends may call 1 hour prior to funeral services at the church Saturday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.

Just want you to know how sorry I am for the loss of your mom, she was a wonderful lady and she will be missed. Missed not seeing you at Plums while I was in town for a visit, but I know you had to be with your mother. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
