Loren DONATELL Obituary

Age 79, of Ooltewah, TN Died January 20, 2023, at Lakebridge Healthcare, Johnson City, TN. He was a family man who loved his wife and children dearly. His most favorite thing was doing crossword puzzles and playing Cribbage. He was a Wisconsin native and the son of the late Frank and Ruth Petersen Donatell. Loren was raised in Minnesota and lived in Ooltewah for many years. He was a graduate of Mechanic Arts High School, St. Paul, MN, and the University of Florida. He was a U. S. Navy veteran serving on the USS Sam Houston. Prior to his retirement, Loren was employed as a nuclear engineer with U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Technical Training Center, Chattanooga. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Marie Donatell. Survivors include: two daughters, Alexandra Nelson, of Johnson City, and Meredith Whitney Donatell, of Ooltewah, TN; and two grandsons, Parker and Cooper Nelson, both of Johnson City. Mr. Donatell will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on July 10th at 10:30AM. Meet at 10:15AM at Assembly Area 2. Lunch for family and friends at Kathy Kath's house at 12pm July 10th. Loren was a good guy and he always had a smile and something positive to say. I haven´t really seen him since high school but so sorry to hear of his passing. I´m sure he´s found his way in heaven.
