Marjorie Joy FRISHBERG

Marjorie Joy Frishberg (née Apter) died peacefully on June 14, 2021 after a valiant battle with cancer. Preceded in death by her parents, Jonas and June Apter; and son-in-law, Robert Weiner. Margie is survived by her husband, Donald; children, Benjamin (Sue), William DesLauriers (John), Rabbi Julie Wolkoff, Tom (Deborah), Richard Wolkoff, and Barbara Wolkoff; grandchildren, Juli (Jonah) LeDoux, Mara DesLauriers, Andrea, Sophie, Rachel, and Charlie Frishberg; great grandchildren, Maisy and Miles LeDoux. She is also survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Miles & Linda Braufman; innumerable cousins in the prodigious Apter, Levine, and Johnson families, and countless lifelong friends. Margie had an unparalleled zest for life fueled by her interest in virtually everything, but especially her love of everything "food". For many years she made her mark as one half of The Planners, caterers known throughout the Twin Cities for their terrific food and extensive knowledge of kosher requirements. She had a collection of cookbooks that rivaled the Library of Congress. Margie never wanted to miss anything, be it a sale (oh how she loved sales), a concert, a party, or a trip. She travelled with her children to Italy, Santa Fe, Vermont, New York, New Orleans, and Florida. She was an influencer before anyone used the term, blazing trails in food and fashion. She loved the arts and she and Donald attended Symphony concerts on a weekly basis. She was active as a volunteer with many arts organizations throughout the Twin Cities, most recently in the Young People's Concert Association of the Minnesota Orchestra. While pursuing a Master's Degree later in life she was named Student of the Year at Hamline University. Margie seemed to know everyone and made friends everywhere she went.
