Marjorie HAMMARGREN Obituary

of St. Paul Died peacefully at Carondelet Village on March 7. Born in Watertown, South Dakota. At a young age, the family moved to Kilkenny, MN. She went to St. Canice Catholic Grade School, Montgomery High School and attended the University of Minnesota. Preceded in death by parents Edward and Elizabeth Hammargren. In spite of disabilities, Marge had a flower business and served as Kilkenny City Clerk. She was on the Southwest Deanery Board for many years. Marge received the Arch Diocesan Council of Catholic Women Award, the Catholic Charities Award and the WCCO Radio Good Neighbor award. She was a third Order Carmelite and served on the State Council on Disabilities for six years. In 1996, Marge carried the torch for the Olympic games in Atlanta, Georgia. Survived by loving sister, Betty Lou; niece, Mary Beth Babinski of Cottage Grove; nephew, Jerry Doffing of Burnsville; one grand-nephew and 3 grand-nieces. Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday March 12 at Carondelet Village Chapel Interment was at Calvary Cemetery in Kilkenny, MN.

Dear Betty,
I have great memories of meeting you and Marjorie here at St. Catherine University. Hearing your voices singing in lovely harmony at mass was so wonderful. My prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time.
