Mark "Hub" APPLETON

1913 - 2015

Age 102 Longtime St. Paul Eastsider Mark was born in Modesto, California on November 22, 1913 and was raised in Edgewood, Iowa. In 1933, he hopped a freight train to the University of MN, where he met his wife, Virginia Best. They were married in 1939. He and Virginia moved to the Eastside of St. Paul in 1951. Mark was a member of Arlington Hills United Methodist Church and the Eastside Lions. After retirement he spent his winters in Arizona. He is preceded in death by wife, Virginia; daughter, Elaine;brother, Harold. Survived by children, Janet Becker, William and Linda (Mike) Charboneau; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Norma Barr; 1 niece; 5 nephews; many, many friends. Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials preferred to Arlington Hills United Methodist Church, the Union Gospel Mission or the Salvation Army.
