Mark Jonathan WORKMAN

1970 - 2018

Age 47, of Apple Valley, MN passed away February 14, 2018 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Mark "Worky" was born May 4, 1970, in Brainerd, MN. He was the son of Gary Workman and Marlene de Boef. Mark was a 1988 graduate of Stillwater High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Sports and Recreational Management from St. Scholastica Duluth in 1993. He dedicated his life to hockey; starting as a Mite in Youth Hockey eventually becoming the Captain of the St. Scholastica hockey team. Mark then went on to turn his passion for hockey into a 25-year career. He was Head Coach at St Scholastica, Assistant Coach at Brown University, Associate Head Coach at Robert Morris University and Amateur Scout for NHL Vegas Golden Knights. He coached numerous USA hockey and MN Model camps. Mark is survived by his father Gary Workman (Joanne), his mother Marlene Sparschu de Boef (Jelle), brother Eric Workman, niece and goddaughter Morgan Workman, Michelle Workman, uncle Gary Sparschu, cousins Carmen, Brenda, Jayne, Sara, Petur and their families, goddaughter Anna Schaefer, and many other friends and family. He was preceded in death by grandparents Amelia (Hensler) and Gustav Sparschu, Carmen Workman and Lula (Emeigh) Workman, and uncle Carmen Workman Jr. Mark's celebration of life will be April 14, 2018 in the Twin Cities metro area.
