Mr. Moheban inspired me with his passion for math. Imagine doing math proofs just for fun, rather than because they were required! My condolences to his family on the loss of this fantastic teacher and human being.

I had Mr Moheban for Algebra in my junior year at Park High. I didn't do well in his class but he always tried to help me understand Algebra and was a very patient teacher and a nice guy, condolences to his family

I have many fond memories of my math classes taught by Mr. Moheban. My senior year I was one of only two female students in a Solid Geometry/Trigonometry class, and he made sure we were treated the same as the boys. I liked his teaching style, and it was clear that he cared about his students. It ws so nice to visit with him at our 45th reunion (Class of 1963), and he amazed me by remembering my full name, despite no contact in all of those years. I'd like to offer my deepest sympathy to his wife and family.

I echo Andy Marlow's comments regarding “The New Math”. I was fortunate to be at same dinner table as Mr. Moheban while attending the 45th Class of 1962 reunion. I asked him about teaching the new math and he said, “It was the worst three years of his teaching career”. The textbooks were terrible; he was correcting errors every evening. However with his help we survived. With that we had a wonderful discussion. It was the first time I had seen him since graduation.
RIP Mr. M. and Well Done!

While I did not know Mr. Moheban, it sounds like he was a special person, and the world was a better place because he was in it. I wish to express my condolences to the Moheban family on the loss of their Father and Father-in-Law. Julie, Will and I will keep Mr. Moheban, and all of you in our prayers.

I never had Mr Moheban for math, but remember him standing in his doorway between classes (to be sure no couples were holding hands) & would always greet him with "Hello Grouch!".. & he would give me that beautiful smile. Peace & Blessings to his Family & Friends from Class of '71

Mr. Moheban taught us math from 1960-62. Junior year was supposed to be higher algebra, but we got stuck with the experimental School Mathematics Study Group - a whole new way of teaching math. I'm sure it was as foreign to him as it was to us, but he helped us struggle through and eventually understand the material. Senior year Trig was all that much easier after SMSG. I was delighted he was able to attend the 45th and 50th reunions of our Class of 1962. RIP, Mr. M. and sincerely condolences to Lois and the family.

We are so sad to hear of Mike's passing. He will be greatly missed as the watchman of the neighborhood, with his ready smile and wave. Elizabeth sometimes still wonders if there really is a buried treasure under our birch tree as Mike had convinced her when she was five! He will be missed in the neighborhood and our thoughts and prayers are with Lois and the entire family.

It is with sadness to hear of Mike's passing. He was a good and enjoyable neighbor. We would joke across the street whenever we mowed, raked or water our lawns. He always had a great story "Just one more thing..." His love for Lois and their story was so special. I will miss him.

My Condolences to Mr. Moheban's Family. I had him for several math classes during high school and he still comes up in conversations about our high school years.
