Michael John CHRISTENSON

A lifelong resident of St. Paul's Midway, Mike, 70, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2017. Preceded in death by parents, Louise T. and Christian A. (Mike); brothers, Paul and Don; and sister, Mary Jane Kittel. Mike is survived by his loving & devoted life partner Karen Kijenski; brother, Bob (Delores); sister-in-law, Darlene Christenson; & Karen's family, Len (Jessica) Kijenski, as well as several loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. An auto fanatic, Mike was a skilled mechanic with the City of St. Paul and the State of MN who established meaningful lasting relationships, none stronger than his deep friendships with George and Cheryl Hernandez. Mike also faithfully served his country in the Navy, Seabees Division with his tour of duty in Vietnam. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, May 24 at 10:00am at St. Columba Catholic Church, 1327 Lafond Ave, St. Paul where Mike was a lifelong parishioner. Visitation Tuesday, May 23, 4:00-8:00PM at Holcomb-Henry-Boom-Purcell, 536 Snelling Ave N., St. Paul and one hour prior to Mass. Interment following the Mass at Elmhurst Cemetery. Deep gratitude for the compassionate care provided by Episcopal Homes. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Alzheimer's Association or Episcopal Church Home.
