I loved working for Mike at Clover. I can't believe it's been this long already. I think that makes Sonja about thirty years old now. I hope she is doing well !!
My best wishes are on the way...

Dearest Sonja, Del, Clare and Mike's family,
I am still so devastated, as you are, and can not stop thinking of Mike every single day...I'm so very sorry for your loss.
Mike hired me at Clover Super Foods and for almost two years I had the pleasure to work with him. As I remember, the best part of the job was listening to him talk about his family. He loved you all so much and was so very proud of Sonja. I met her at "Clover" a few times when she came in to help us out. Mike always let me know how she was doing at school and in her sports activities !! He also, very much looked forward to golf with Dad, (I believe it was Thursday's about 1 P.M. or so).
Mike even tried to help me "post Clover" to find employment and called me several times with "leads". Only a really special person would go out of their way and try to help others like that !!!
Del and Clare, Thank you so much for raising Mike to be that kind of person !!! You both must also be that special. Many, many of us truly do appreciate it...
If anyone would like to chat about Mike, please write me via
e-mail or call at 651-653-3812. I would be happy to hear from you...
We love and miss you Mike...

Dear Uncle Delmer, Aunt Clare, and Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve for Michael. I didn't know Michael very well as we only saw each other at family gatherings. I have enjoyed getting to know him better through the many wonderful entries in this guest book. I thank everyone for sharing their memories of my cousin Mike. He has touched many lives and will be missed by so many people. May God give you comfort in this very sorrowful time.
With Love, Your Niece, Mary Tarman and Family

To Michael's Family: I'm very sorry to hear of Michael's death. I did not know Michael, but I know of melanoma (a friend of mine died last year, and another friend is battling it right now), and it's a terrible disease. From reading the guest entries, it sounds like Michael was a wonderful person, and will be missed by many. God will hold him close and Michael will now be your angel watching over you. Take care and God's Blessings. Michelle

To the family of Mike,
I am very sorry for your loss. I had the opportunity to work with Mike at Thomson for the past 3 years. When I first met Mike, I spent 2 weeks shadowing and working under him in a management training program. At the time, Mike was 2nd shift Distribution Supervisor. One thing that he taught me was to always show your appreciation towards others. When his team would have a challenging night, Mike would personally stand at the door and shake the hand of every employee leaving; thanking them for their hard work that evening and wishing them a safe trip home. I think this shows Mike’s gift for touching others. He was an outstanding colleague and a wonderful friend. I will miss him greatly.

To Mike's Family,
I was saddened to get a call from a former RCM(Richfield Community Ministry)Leader telling me about Mike. I remember all of the great times we had working with kids in Richfield. Mike was loved my all and he had a great heart that really reached out to touch those around him. I know that God used Mike in many ways throughout his life and he will be greatly missed. I thank God that I had the opportunity to meet and work with him. My prayers are with the family at this time of loss. God Bless.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.
I met Mike at a "Gifts" retreat at St John Neumann at a time when I needed a friend. He was very much involved with the youth group at the church and asked me to help with the group. I did, and got the pleasure of getting to know Mike. We talked a lot and I really valued his friendship. He even brought me a blanket from one of his trips to Mexico, I still have it sitting on my couch.
I'm sorry I can't make his Mass but I will keep Mike, his family and friends in my prayers.
Thank you, Mike, for being such a special person to many people.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was so dedicated to making peoples lives better. I was lucky to have him as a friend. He started me on the spring vacation kick back in the late 70's when we would go just the 2 of us to Florida. I remember him being so creative and humorus with his ideas for so many things, mostly the Ministry to make others enjoy and appreciate the love of Christ. I worked, played, lived and traveled with Mike and will always hold those times to be very important in my life. I know he is in a fine place right now and is being taken care of very well. I will keep my prayers for Sonja and the family that the loss you have experienced will be overcome in time. My hope is that we all will carry on Mikes compassion to make a difference in other peoples lives. He did. Thank you Mike, I Love You.

To Mike's family,
I greatly enjoyed working with Mike at Thomson West. He was a wonderful colleague and will be missed by all of his co-workers. I have heard many good things about his daughter Sonja who works for my sister-in-law at the Grand Olde Creamery in Hastings. I'm sure Mike was very proud.

My condolences to Mike's family and friends. I have had the honor to know Mike for the past three years; first in his role as a Thomson West Distribution supervisor and later when he became a Purchasing Manager. Mike has always been a pillar for his employees and others at West. He was a professional in everything he did and I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing. Thank you for sharing him with those of us at West. I will offer a special prayer in his memory at my Church.

My fondest sympathies for Mike's family. He was so proud of his family. He talked with such pride about his daughter Sonya with a smile whenever he mentioned her.
He had a wonderful sense of humor and an easy smile.
I am thankful I had the opportunity to know him.
I will never forget complaining to him because he switched vendors and equipment for the paper towels and tp in the washrooms. Start up was awful--but he just laughed at me of course and everything is working fine now! Mike liked to find better deals and save us money and he did it well!
My heart will always remember him.
