Patrick Fusco Obituary

Fusco, Patrick J. Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle Age 73 of St. Paul died peacefully at home after a long and valiant battle with Progressive Supranuculear Palsy (PSP). Preceded in death by his brother, Salvatore, parents Angelo and Assunta, and niece Danielle. Survived by Norma, his loving wife of 44 years; devoted sister, Mary Ann Howe (Kevin); sons Vincent (Jean) and Michael (Bridget); daughter Jennifer Wynia (Rich); Grandchildren Tommy, Henry, Dominic, Peter, Jack and Alex; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and loving friends. Pat was a wonderful father, grandfather (Papa), and the great love of Norma's life. Pat had a strong sense of faith and love for God that gave him strength during his illness. Pat never let his illness take his sense of humor or his passion for life. Our family wishes to thank the many friends and relatives that supported Pat with their thoughts and prayers over the last several years. Pat especially enjoyed the visits, notes and phone calls - thank you very much. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Tuesday at Maternity of Mary Catholic Church (1414 Dale St., St. Paul). Visitation 4-8 PM Monday at the Roseville Memorial Chapel (2245 N. Hamline Ave., Roseville) 651-631-2727, and 1 hour prior to service at church. Memorials preferred to the Society for PSP (www.psp.org) or Hospice of the Lakes. Pat will be missed by all who knew him.

Norma -
I'm so sorry I could not be with you this week. You and Pat have always been so wonderful to watch - you two so clearly loved each other. I remember watching our boys play hockey - we were all bundled up in those cold arenas. Pat was a riot - nervous as could be but never showing it. He said the nicest thing to me - "I never worry ehwn Ted is on the ice" - that has stuck with me.
Our love and prayers to you and the kids.

Praying for the arms of Jesus to surround you and comfort you in this time of grief. Psalm 23 says that even tho we go thru the valley of the shadow of death we need not fear for our gentle shepherd is with us. Jesus has gone on before us to prepare a mansion for us in heaven. He is wiping away every tear from Pat's eyes and restoring him to perfect health.
This is the hope we hold as true as believers in Jesus. You will see your dear husband again.
Until that time, may the peace of God fill that place in your heart that misses him.
I worked with your husband, Pat, in the day care unit at Ramsey Co.
I was often encouraged by his kindness and faith.

Many good memories of Pat. First as a youngster with his dad bringing fresh vegetables to our neighbors. Then as a co-worker at the welfare department, where he always had a good word and a cheerful smile. And most recently as a fellow mall-walker at Har Mar where Dick and I would see Norma and Pat, always with a friendly greeting. It was our good fortune to have known Pat, and we extend our sincere sympathy to Norma and all their family. We wish you peace.

Norma, I will miss our coffee together with Pat but I know that Pat is in a better place smiling down. There really was never a better caregiver...Blessings to you in the days ahead. Louise from hospice

Norma,
I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Pat was a great man who was kind to everyone he met. He could always make a person smile and he always had time to stop and say "hello". You took exceptional care of him and the love and respect the two of you had for each other was a special gift that everyone around you was able to enjoy. Thank you for showing us what true love is all about. Pat's death will leave a void in your life. There is no doubt in my mind that you will fill that void and continue on with your life until the two of you meet again. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this difficult time.

Dear Norma and family:
Sandi and I just returned home and heard your message. We are extremely sadden by the news of the loss of such a wonderful person. I knew that things were not going well when I spoke with you the other day, but did not realize the severity. May God, family, and friends(of which he had many) comfort you in this time of sorrow.
Everyone who knew Pat has at least one favorite story regarding him. Whenever I think of Pat, I think of his statement to me after he hired me to be an Intake worker in Child Protection Intake. Whenever I complained about whatever, Pat would smile and say, "I never promised you a rose garden!!". Well, I truly hope that he is at rest in his rose garden.
Norma, Pat was a prince of a man, but you were his Queen!!! As Sandi has often said, the two of you belonged on the top of the wedding cake. We hope that the memories sustain you.
Love, Bruce and Sandi
