Peter BRANDT Obituary

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at home on January 13th, 2021. Born September 2nd, 1939. A lifelong resident of St. Paul. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Otho Brandt: sister, Karen Goodwin. He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Blake (Katie) Brookie, Chipper and Tommy. Missy Finn (Patrick), Jackson and Lily. Also, sister Barbara Abbott, brother William (Louise), brother-in-law Tom Barnes (Pat) and many nieces and nephews, family and friends, and beloved dog Chloe. To our beloved Papa, you will forever be our #1 fan. You never missed a game; your support was endless! Thank you for instilling such great values in all of us that we will carry with us forever. We love you! The Grandkids Dad, your love and support in all we and our kids did is immeasurable. You have always been our biggest cheerleader. Your kindness and wit will stay with all of us forever. Blake and Missy Peter had a hand in guiding us in life and friendship. He had a profound effect on many people through his life. The Big Guy will be missed, especially by the Boyz (Directors). "Are there Pull-Tabs in Heaven?" The friendships made at Linwood playground have lasted for over 60 years and we owe it all to Pete. A compilation of Friends' quotes. Peter, fate brought us together at the Central High School Homecoming 1956. We were blessed with 59 years of marriage; you are my soulmate and best friend. Peter's greatest joy was his family and all the grandchildren's activities, especially sporting events. What wonderful family memories we created together. Judy A celebration of life will be held this summer. In lieu of a donations, please offer a sign of love to someone today and make someone laugh, as Peter often did.

Blake and the rest of the Brandt family my condolences, Mr.Brandt and I enjoyed many years of seeing each other at Marine trade shows and always enjoyed catching up on things and talking about fishing and hockey, it won't be the same at a State Hockey Tourney without holding a little court with Mr.Brandt on the club level of the arena. Rest in Peace Mr. Brandt

Nothing but fond memories of the old boxcar which was Linwood Playground. Ice skating, hockey for Tom. Girls softball and Pirates team at Conway field. Volleyball under the sprinklers on a hot day. Oh and never forget the dances out on the field. Such wonderful fun memories. The friendships made back in the mid 60s still remain. A great group of kids were drawn to that old boxcar. Peter certainly showed us the value of life long friends. Peter had a way of making each of us feel special. Even if it was playing right field. Enjoyed over the years watching Peter and Judy together. Such obvious love and respect. How lucky we were to know Peter and learn the best of life from the BEST. Bonnie and Tom

I offer my sincere condolences and sympathies to the entire Brandt family. Pete was a rare individual. Who was a father figure, coach, guardian, baby sitter, disciplinarian if needed, and your mentor all in one. For the hundreds of kids who called Linwood their home turf. Growing up just three blocks from Linwood, I spent more time there than at home playing every sport and just hanging out from the late 50's thru 70's. In the old wood "Box Car" warming house. Where you'd see Pete, bigger than life to a young boy, tending to every need of all the kids and teams from a 8' x 4' "cage" at the end with a single light and a sometimes working inadequate space heater above. Pete made you feel special and had the ability few have to make you want to be your best. In all the important ways. In sports and life. Lessons that made you do your best without undo criticism but encouragement and instill in you not to disappoint. With a desire to achieve for your reward with hard work with respect for others. I know all those close to him, and the hundreds he touched, recognize this of Pete. We all have a few of in our life's journey who hold a special place as having an impact on our forming the person we become. Pete was one for me and I know to many . That was who he was. God rest Pete's soul and I pray for you all. That you take comfort in knowing that many share your loss and hold out support. We are all richer for having Pete touch our life.

Judy, Blake and Brandt family, please accept my sincere sympathies for the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. Peter had a profound influence on me as coach, mentor friend. I have many fond memories of being part of the Linwood gang. Peter helped make us all winners because he was a winner on the field and in life. Rest In Peace Big Pete.
