Phyllis MAJOR Obituary

Age 96, of St. Paul, born May 27, 1919 in Chicago, Ill to Charles and Anna (Polyea) Fogel and passed away November 20, 2015. Married Sam Major in 1942. Preceded in death by husband, Sam; sister, Charlene. Survived by sons, Mitchell, Leonard (Helen), Anthony (Sandy) and Gilbert Major; grandchildren, Hilary (Pippa), Alex, Sam and Julius Major. Phyllis was a lover of words and stories. A gifted writer, loving wife, mother and aunt. Special thanks to the staff at Sholom Home East who she loved and who made her feel cherished. Graveside service 3:00 pm SUNDAY at MOUNT ZION CEMETERY, 1670 Payne Ave., St. Paul. Memorials preferred to Mount Zion Adult Education Fund. We lost an amazingly graceful lady; for many at Sholom, she was a delight to know and interact with; to me, she was a rare friend, a teacher, a joy , my Anam Cara. I will miss her forever.
