Pierre was truly one of the pioneers of precision agriculture. He helped establish and maintain the scientific credibility of site-specific crop management, and worked tirelessly to share the potential value of these tools in making the world a better place. He is missed, and I'm having trouble referring to Pierre in the past tense. He touched many people throughout the world. Our prayers are with his family.

I respected Pierre tremendously for his vision, technical knowledge and organizational skills. But what made him fun to be around was his great joie de vivre. I will miss him.

Dr. Robert will be very much missed in the University community and across the world. He was an inspiration, teacher, and mentor. You could tell from the twinkle in his eye and his easy smile that he knew how to live and enjoy life. It was a pleasure working for him. Pierre will be missed very much.
