Rachel BURDESKI

Loving Wife, Mother, Grandma, and Friend Passed away peacefully on October 22, 2023, at the age of 76. She was surrounded by her dearest loved ones. Rachel was born and raised in Chicago, IL. She graduated from Resurrection High School in 1965. After school, she began her career in customer service and held many roles until she retired in 2016. Rachel was a devoted wife to her husband Richard Burdeski of 42 years. Rachel had two children whom she adored Gina Kapel (Schmerler) and Benjamin Schmerler. Rachel was a loving mother to her son-in-law Adam Kapel and her daughter-in-law Anne Groff. She was enamored by her four grandchildren, Jack, Sam, Neve and Una. Rachel was most passionate about her kids and grandkids and could be found sewing them pajamas or calling them. She was a kind, generous, and humorous soul who was always willing to help others. Rachel will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
