A lesson in keeping in touch with people who made an impact in your life. Every May 1st I think of Ray. He had a little slogan he would sing regarding an outdoor activity that would begin May 1st, I will not elaborate further. I met Ray in August of 1982, I had moved from part time to full time employment with the VA Medical Center in Mpls. I came into the VA Laundry as a 19 yr old kid that new it all. Ray took me under his wing and guided me through what to do, and not to do in the VA system. We became friends and went on many hunting trips over the years, got to spend some time with Tommy trap shooting and hunting as well. After 13yrs I left the VA and started my own business. Responsibility, life, family.......... time marched on. I remember stopping in and seeing him 5 or 6 yrs after leaving the VA. Kept saying we need to do this more often. I am truly ashamed I am sending this 4 years after his passing. Stay in touch with those who made a difference in your life. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss. He was a gem.

Ray was a very special person with a heart of gold. Ray (and Barb) were wonderful, wonderful neighbors and friends while we lived next door. They were always kind, funny, and generous. We enjoyed visiting them at the N St Paul car show and the antique store. Our deepest sympathy to the family.

David, Debbie and Tom, you have our deepest sympathy on the loss of your Dad. This is never easy when a parent passes on and you must always keep close the memories and love he had for each of you! Thoughts and Prayers, Mary and John Cox

We have fond memories when Ray was at our seasonal campground on Fish Lake. He enjoyed fishing and family times at their trailer.

We loved Ray. He was such a kind person, always saying hello when I walked by. We will miss him.
