Rob will be greatly missed. He was wonderful to work with, he took ownership of issues, understood the big picture, was extremely knowledgeable in the areas he covered, and was instrumental in successful audits at both Brooklyn Park and Plymouth. Heartfelt thoughts to the family.

I worked with Rob for 25 years. His contributions to making Brooklyn Park and Plymouth-AL Medtronic sites successful are immeasurable. He was the most knowledgeable, go-to person with respect to work related issues that I have known. This is a great loss for Medtronic and for all of his colleagues. I miss him greatly.

Rob and I have worked together off and on since he began his work at the ATS site. He was a critical cog in our wheel here. He is missed every day and my heart breaks for his family. He will be though of often and with fond regards. And I will make a donation to a worthy cause each time "How would Rob handle this situation?" comes up to honor his great contributions to our site and our lives.

So sad to hear this, my condolences to Rob's family. I was lucky to work with Rob for 12 years at the ATS site. Through all of the challenges and projects, I was always impressed an inspired by his knowledge, ability to stay calm and objective no matter the issue, and always advocate for the quality of the product. On a personal level, Rob was kind, friendly, and always willing to help and listen to whatever problem you were dealing with, be it professional or personal. Through all the time spent helping others, he still somehow managed to be single most productive person I've ever worked with, I still don't know how he did it! He always seemed to have a positive attitude and was quick with a smile, and will continue to be a professional role model for how I'd like to present myself. Rob, I'll miss you greatly, may you rest in peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Rob at the Brooklyn Park Medtronic quite a few years ago. He was the kind of guy who would do for you what he could with out hesitation. He will be greatly missed.

My heartfelt condolence to Rob's family. I'm honored that I crossed path with Rob and we worked together for the last couple of years. Rob was always willing to step up to investigate any problems we faced at work. He was very passionate about coaching engineers who just started their career.

In loving memory of Rob, he will forever be missed. His memories and impact will live on through the lives he touched.

My condolences to Rob's family. I had the pleasure of working with Rob for several years and he was always willing to take the time to help. At times, even if he did really have an answer he would take the time to listen and offer advice. He was truly a great guy and it was a pleasure working with him.

I worked together with Rob almost daily for over 20 years. He was the most knowledgeable quality engineer I've had the pleasure to work with. He was my constant source of information and guidance on all things quality related. Rob always took the time to help and discuss any issue that came up. In addition to that, Rob was one of the nicest, well-liked and respected people I've ever worked with. I liked Rob so much, I can't say enough about how great he was. I will miss Rob every day.
My deepest condolences to Rob's family. I'm so very sorry for your loss.

Rob was an efficient, calm and understanding person that I had the pleasure of working with for 20 years. He took me under his wing as a new quality engineer and taught me to always be able to get the data myself, walk as fast as possible in the hallways and do the work as quickly as you can. He answered my daily questions about work, my car, life, how he made friends and any other topic that I thought he would care about. When I had personal challenges, Rob did research for me, helped with my extra work and even hugged me one time. Over the years we didn't sit side by side anymore, but I continued to reach out to him for help and will forever be grateful for his teachings and his kind spirit. Thank you Rob for changing my life for the better, I am truly blessed by you. You are missed more than you know. Praying for Rob's family and sending peaceful thoughts. ~Danielle Costello

So sad. I echo my brother Paul Cich’s sentiment. Rob was a great cousin and a very kind person, always with a ready smile and a quiet laugh. Yesmany great memories with Rob, particularly growing-up together. Rob enjoyed airplanes, and I remember being fortunate to travel with Rob and his dad (Uncle Jack) to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the big air show there in 1973. I remember Rob and I steering clear of the ‘invisible dogs’ at Oshkosh (a dog leash and collar with a wire running through the leash to give it the required stiffness); a popular thing back then. Rob and I, along with my brother Paul ‘flew’ many model airplanes together, and would run and hide from passing cars, yelling ‘take-cover! Enemy tank!’. Yep, fun-times growing-up with Rob, who had a great imagination and was a fine friend. God bless you and your great family, Rob. Prayers are with you!
