Robert Eugene LYNGHOLM

Formerly of Stillwater & Cottage Grove Robert died August 3, 2023 at Cottagewood Senior Community of Rochester, MN. He is survived by his wife Ruth, his sons Peter and Thomas Lyngholm of Stillwater, plus nephews and a niece. He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Evelyn Lyngholm and his sister Karen Plante, all of Crookston, MN. Robert had a master's degree from Winona State University in elementary education. He taught 33.5 years for school district 622 (N. St. Paul, Oakdale, Maplewood) before his retirement in June 1999. Robert was a sports fan, enjoyed gardening, baking pies with Ruth, and reading mystery and Civil War history books. He proudly served 4 years in the Navy after graduation from Crookston HS in 1957. Robert and Ruth were "snow birds" in Sahuarita, AZ where they had a home for 20 years. They enjoyed the warmer winters and activities with a wonderful group of new friends. Interment will be 9/12/23 at 12:30 pm at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Robert will be greatly missed by his family and friends for his Ole and Lena jokes, his love of coupons for dining out, and his caring and generous ways. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer's Association Walk for the Cure would be appreciated by his family.
