I just thought I could come on here to write a message to Robert. It's been a really rough year on my family and we all miss him very much!

Robert, It's been months since you left us, but not a day goes by that I don't think of you. Most of the time it's happy memories of you. Then, occasionally I will break down because I still just don't understand why you aren't here. I know you are in a much better place free of any pain or worry. I just really miss hearing your voice and most of all your laugh. You always brought a smile to my face. I loved hearing stories about you and my mom causing trouble or your last minute vacations! I still can't believe you are gone. Words seriously cannot express how much you are deeply missed!! We all love and miss you very much!! One day I will see you again, but until then...know that you are always in our thoughts and prayers. I love and miss you with all my heart!

Dear Tousley Family:

There are so many funny stories I could share with you/with everyone. I am sure that everyone has a lot. Bob was one of my closest friends but over the past couple years, for whatever reason, we did not have much contact. Probably just a phone call or two a month. Looking back, I wish I could have/would have made more of an effort...Hindsight...I do have to say that I really enjoyed seeing all the photos of him throughout his life, and especially the ones with us in Cancun (of course). That, by far, was the best vacation I have ever taken. I do have some more pictures from that trip, one in particular that I would like to share. I will try to post it in the next day or two. As far as the memories with Bob, I don’t even know where to begin. I remember how when we would go shopping (at a crowded mall) and he would start singing very loud, or he would look at me and say, "NO! I WILL NOT KISS YOU FOR A DOLLAR!" and then he would giggle while everyone looked at me. . or he would sing, "I wanna be a cowboy and you can be my cowgirl" in a southern accent. Or when I fell off the curb onto my butt (in Cancun. . .don’t ask) and for three days he would say, "wasn't Diane so pretty when she fell off the curb in her black sundress" and then he had to stop saying it cuz when he was walking in front of me and trying to see what the commotion was across the street he ran right into a telephone pole (I am laughing now) It was hysterical! Then I got to say, "Wasn't Bob so pretty when he ran into that telephone pole". . I really hope that you all can appreciate these memories/stories as much as I can. Every time I think of these things I laugh out loud! There is the one picture that the family had up of us in Cancun when we were in the huge pot. It was his idea for us to get in there and have my husband take our picture. . . well when it was time to get out he got stuck because of his height, he couldn’t get his legs out. . . It turned into a huge ordeal and we were all laughing although he kept saying through his laughter, “You guys, this isn’t funny. I am seriously stuck”. These are just a couple of the many memories I have with him and I am going to miss him so much!

Thank you to all of you who have written in to share your thoughts and memories of Robert. You can not imagine how comforting it is to read all of these beautiful sentiments. We, the family, still go to this site daily, I guess as a way to stay connected to him and to help us through this terrible loss that we all feel so deeply. Your kind words and thoughts really help during this difficult time. If there is anyone else that reads this, please take some time to share your thoughts, memories or a story or two of Robert and know that it really means something to us. So many people knew Robert and have many great and funny stories about him. We would love to hear them as a way to help keep him alive and to bring a smile to our faces when we are down. Robert was an amazing gift to us all and a real inspiration to teach us all how to be selfless. He gave to us until he no longer could. We all hope he is at peace.

Tousley Family,
So shocked and sorry to hear of Robert's sudden death. The message came in a round about way from Tom Redmond thru his Aunt Sr Ann. They were looking for Brian's phone number. Haven't gotten hold of him yet.
Robert & Brian were such good friends when they were young. They spent many hours playing at each others homes. We could always count on Robert to show up for birthday cake no matter who was celebrating. He was like a member of the family.I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers are with you! Wish we had known about the memorial service.

I haven't seen Robert since 8th grade at St Columba but I would definitely say he was the most humorous kid in the class. I have fond memories of him even when he pushed me off the "King of the Hill" snowbank which was a game we all played at school.

I haven't seen Robert since eighth grade; yet, am filled with memories of him which seem like yesterday. He would use his intelligence and wit to make everyone laugh... pulling his pants up so his socks would show or by mocking the teachers (not funny to teachers; very funny to kids). May God Bless Robert and those dear to him.

To the whole Tousley Family, I am so sorry about Robert's passing. I was glad to have him as a childhood friend growing up. I can see he never lost his humor, he was always the one to laugh with. I lost touch with him for a long time and out of the blue he contacted me a while back and we never stayed in contact. I know what each and everyone of the kids are going through. The loss is great but the memories always survive. Robert growing up never had a mean streak in him and I am sure as an adult the same still holds true. I want you to know that I will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers. I wish I could have made the trip to pay my respect and to see you all for it's has been a long, long time. I am sorry it took a tragedy like this to contact you all again I would love to hear back when time allows. May God bless you and help you through this difficult time. Mark

I am so sorry for your loss. There are so many nice things to write about Bob . . . but I can honestly say that he made classes with him in high school the best. Because of our last names we always sat next to each other and laughed until we cried. A couple years ago we ran into each other at a restaurant and made plans to get together. We met at Champps in St. Paul at 11:00 am and Bob showed up with the most beautiful floral arrangement I had ever seen and it was for ME!! What he wrote on the card was just simply beautiful and to this day I carry it in my purse with my rosary because nothing has ever touch me more. That day at Champps we sat there from 11:00 am until 10:30 at night . . . talking the whole time! I was suppose to go to a family function but was having so much fun with him that I passed on it to stay and talk. I don't think Bob realized how special he was. He is probably the funniest person that I have ever known. I will deeply miss him. In sympathy . . .
