So, a little personal message today.

I was starting the planning of a family golf trip and golf always leads my thoughts to Roger. We lost him 11 years ago this week. He raised 5 good boys and we all loved to golf with him. I think we all jockeyed to ride the cart with him. We didn't acknowledge that we wanted his golf tips, but secretly we loved them. Even in his last few rounds with us, he thought he was superman, and would try to hit driver off the deck to reach a par 5 in 2. If there are par 5's in Heaven, I am sure he is still going for it! I golfed with my son last week, and the whole round I regretted that Dad wasn't out there with us.

Love and miss you Dad. Give Mom a hug for me. Kent.

Dad,
It's been ten years and I still miss you. It hurts this time of year. I've picked up the phone quite a few times to call you since you've been gone. Kinda stupid right? Things are different now. You held the family together and gave all of us reason to make plans and get together. I'm sorry I wasn't there as much as I should have been. After Mom, I was never very good dealing with saying goodbye. I love you both and miss you hopelessly. I wish you and mom could have seen the farm. It took a while but I grew up Dad. I owe you everything. Thanks for being there and loving us.

Well it's father's day 9 years later. I woke up with the feeling that I would be playing golf today as we always did. Ben is home from his 1st year of college and Katie got her own car and is always on the move somewhere. Tina is steady as always. I sure miss you Dad. Say 'hi' to Mom for us. See you soon!

Boy we sure could have used you at the golf tournament a couple weeks ago, we all floundered at the same time. That's when you would typically carry us to the end. Miss you Dad!

Today it was -2 degrees and I got to thinking of how much you hated the cold when you were wiring , but how you toughed it out as you did everything you came up against. As time goes by I keep getting older and you keep getting smarter. Go figure! I think of you almost every day and we talk about you often with the kids. I love you Dad! Carl

Dad, I was thinking of you today as I do every day. I read my card nearly every morning and it makes me smile. Just like you did. I sure miss you. Katie sleeps with your blanket every night. Ben asks about you often. They both sure miss you.
We all love you and think of you often.
Your loving son,

Well Dad... another Birthday... I miss the traditional birthday round of golf. All of the grandkids are getting so huge!! You would be so proud of them. I am sure you filled in Mom all of the details of them all. Kiss her for me and the boys. We truly miss you both!!

The groundhog didn't see his shadow so spring is coming. I thought about last year when we thought perhaps you would be able to have a little garden. I will try one this year with you looking over me. I know you will be walking the rows up there. Miss you much Rog. Love, "your baby sister"

Dad, Thanksgiving's coming up and we're making plans to go to Kent's this year. It just doesn't seem the same without you. I think of you often, especially when I wonder into your room (still can't seem to get around to cleaning it out). I guess I really took you being here for granted. I'll always love you Dad.

Dad... everytime I drive by a golf course I think of all the good times us "boys" had hackin away at the little white ball. I miss riding the cart with you. I miss the talks on the porch. I miss the political debates. We all miss you each and every day.
