Roy E. and Lila Mae "Dick" BREDAHL

Of Eagan, MN and Fort Myers, FL Roy E. Bredahl, age 89, passed away on April 1, 2023 after a long illness with Parkinson's. Throughout the disease, Roy always faced the challen-ges with a smile and stayed strong and positive to the end. Roy is survived by his sons, Terry (Inga) and Tim (Mary Rowe); 7 grandchildren, Lars, Steffen, Hans, Madeline, Thomas, Cooper and Cole; 5 great granddaughters; his sister, Laura Wingate and brother, Glenn (Bonnie); and many nieces and nephews. Roy was born in East St. Paul and graduated from Cretin High School class of 1951 and Notre Dame class of 1956. He also served as a 1st Lt. in the Air Force. He and his wife Lila raised their two sons in Highland Park. Roy was a Civil Engineer with the City of St. Paul and after retirement, established a land development company. Roy excelled in many sports. He was a fast pitch softball pitcher well into his 60s. He also enjoyed playing and watching hockey and golf. Because family was always important to Roy and Lila, they spent the winters in Florida with Terry, Inga and their family, and the summers in Minnesota with Tim, Mary and their family. Lila Mae Bredahl (Macho), age 87, passed away on April 8, 2023 after a protracted battle with cancer. Survived by her sons, Terry (Inga) and Tim (Mary Rowe); 7 grand-children, Lars, Steffen, Hans, Madeline, Thomas, Cooper and Cole; 5 great granddaughters; her sister, Joleen Schugel; and many nieces and nephews. Lila was born in New Ulm, Minnesota and moved to the Twin Cities to attend the University of Minnesota. She met Roy dancing at the Prom Center and they married in 1958. Lila was an active mother who enjoyed giving parties throughout the years, especially at their family pool. Lila also owned a Highland Park wedding business, Beautiful Brides. Roy and Lila were married for 64 years and were apart for only a short time before her passing a week after Roy. Visitation for Roy and Lila will be on Saturday, April 22 at O'Halloran & Murphy, 575 So. Snelling Ave., St. Paul, 9-11 AM, with prayer service at 11 AM.
