I wrote this poem for you dad! I miss you so much!!! I Love you!
If We Only Had The Time
There are so many things I would say
So many unspoken words.
I would tell you that you are my hero
something you never even heard.
If we only had the time
I would never miss your phone call
and I would visit more.
Just so I could see you
and to be able to hug you once more.
If we only had the time
I would call more for your advice
or for no reason at all.
Or I would come just to see you
ref the game of basketball.
If we only had the time
I would tell you that I'm happy
and that I've turned my life around.
Just so you could see me
with my feet firmly on the ground.
If we only had the time
I would take back all the hurt and pain I caused
when we had our fights.
Because you were doing the best you could
at trying to raise us right
If we only had the time
I would take back all the mistakes I've made
that disappointed you
and turn them into reasons
I should be thanking you.
If we only had the time
I would thank you for your guidance,
and your discipline.
With out it I would have ended up
where I shouldn't have been.
If we only had the time.
I would thank you for your whistle
when it was time to come home.
And thank you for the smell
of your over sprayed cologne.
If we only had the time
I would tell you how much I appreciate
the way that I've grown
I would tell you how proud I am
to be one of your own.
If we only had the time
I would tell you to stay in
go shopping another day
Because there is a drunk driver
who will take your life away.
If we only had the time
But time has been taken
time we will never get back
So I'll hold on to our memories
the ones we made to last
Every day I miss you
and even more then the day before
One day my time will come

Uncle Roy,
Wow it's been over a month since you were brought back to the lord's arms. I miss you so much you were my favorite uncle. We had such a good time when we were gowing up to sledding down bakers hill, roller skating at the rink, drive in movies, and most of camping trips to watch you and my dad play. You will always be in my heart and i will never forget all the goods memories we had. It's shame he had to take you so soon but i guess god needed a special angel up there and you know that you. Tell Grandma Debbie I said hi and i love the both you always and forever.

My deepest sympathy goes out to the entire Hobbs family. I have known "Roy the Natural" for most of his life and I have only great memories of him! He was a guy the had more energy then most he could run all day and all night! He had such a great smile and was always very friendly. I just saw him less then two weeks ago and when he introduced the girls to me as he reffed a basketball game. The pain of his loss will soften, but I will never forget Roy Hobbs!

The most impressive thing that always struck me about Roy, was the way he valued his family, he talked about them alot. This is a sign of a quality person and one I know who will be missed. God bless

I was an old friend from the West side. I am saddened by the fact I never was able to reconnect with the group of people that helped to protect me in my younger years. Roy was infact was one of the good guys. To his famiy I'm sure that he passed on some of his traits to you. May you find comfort in knowing that myself and many others were lucky to know him.

I know you never met us but Roy (Pee Wee) as we called him use to play with my brother, who was also killed years ago in an accident,when the family visited Pa with his stepdad.
