Samuel Anthony McGUIRE

1992 - 2023

Born on June 5, 1992, in Minnesota, sadly passed away on August 18, 2023 in Phoenix. Sam spent his youth enjoying the wonders of Lake Johanna and enjoyed nothing more than playing outside or being at the family cabin. He was involved in soccer, hockey and snowboarding from age four through high school, He was known for his smile, was intensely loyal and had the great good fortune of making wonderful friends for life. He graduated from Minnehaha Academy in 2010 and from the University of North Dakota aviation program in 2015. He discovered his love of flying while in college and taught flying in Phoenix after college. He flew for Sky West before he got his dream job with Southwest Airlines. He loved his girlfriend, Tasha, his friends including many dear fellow pilots, and his family. He is now flying among the stars, and the world misses his presence. He is survived by his family who loved and adored him. His parents, Warren and Brenda McGuire, and his siblings and their families; Luke (and Claire) McGuire with new baby Rilo, Joel (and Jody) McGuire and children Jacob, Jameson, Julian and Josie, and sister Claire Burris (and Michael) and son Van. He also leaves behind his loving partner, Tasha Foster, and so many good friends. A Celebration of Sam will be held on Monday, September 25th, beginning at 10 am at the Oak Glen Golf Course in Stillwater, MN. Following the service, lunch and golf tee times are available to all who wish to celebrate Sam's avid love of golf. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Animal Humane Society.
