Shirley G. WALTER

1935 - 2022

Age 86 Formerly of Elk River Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on 2/17/22. She was preceded in death by her parents Philip & Rose (Vossen) Brutger; and siblings Leona Braun, Jerome Brutger, and Ralph Brutger; and many friends & neighbors. Shirley is survived by her husband of 62 years, Paul; son Tony (Wendy); and grandchildren Nathan, Olivia, Emma, and Kyle; siblings Sister Carol Berg, OSB, Anne Marie Dockendorf; and Phyllis Kunkel; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Shirley was a 44-year member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, where she volunteered for many activities and events. She worked at FOK for 20 years, the Elk River School District for 14 years, and was a volunteer at CAER as their Laundry Lady for 29 years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, 2/26/22 at 10:30 AM, with visitation 1 hour prior to Mass at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 566 4th St. NW, Elk River.
