Stanley Fredin Obituary

Fredin, Stanley Miles - Rochester. The memorial service will be held for Stanley Miles Fredin at ISLE BAPTIST CHURCH in Isle, MN at 2PM June 25th, 2005. Mr. Fredin, 63, most recently a resident at Sunrise Assisted Living of Rochester in Rochester, MN, died Wednesday (June 1, 2005) at St. Mary's Hospital following years of battling a variety of medical conditions. He was born September 29, 1941 in Aitkin, MN and his family lived in Isle, MN. He graduated from Isle High School in 1960. He moved to the cities to attend school and later moved back to Isle where he met his wife. He married in 1967 and moved to South St. Paul, MN. From 1969 to 1979, he worked for Champion International. In 1970 they moved to St. Paul, MN and in 1977 they moved to Minneapolis, MN. He retired from the University of Minnesota where he worked from 1979 to 1992. In 1981 he was divorced and moved to Brooklyn Center, MN. In 1999, he moved with his son's family to the Rochester area and in 2003 moved into Sunrise Assisted Living of Rochester. His passions were family, fellowship with friends and acquaintances, sports, particularly baseball, football, fishing and bowling, automotive work, crafting and woodworking, and most of all, being a nice guy and friend to everyone he met. Survivors include one son David (Melissa) Fredin of Oronoco; two grandchildren, Christina and Abbigail; his brother, Kenny (Lucille) Fredin of Isle; sisters, Helen (Richard) Nord of Mora and Sandy (Leroy) Nelson of Isanti. Memorials are suggested to Sunrise Cottages of Rochester Activities Department.
