September 19, 2016

Steve W your still in my thoughts daily, I think of you everytime I hear JImmy Buffet and the Counting Crows our union break song. My family also have fun memories, just the other day Mom was telling her story of how much you like her ground up bologna and Susie still talks to you when were playing the machines asking you to send us down some good luck. We will
always keep you in our memories forever and continue to share them always.
MISS YOU dearly my friend

July 6, 2012

After all this time I still can't believe you are gone. I hear your voice all the time. I still run into people whose life you tuched and get to hear again how much you were loved and how special a guy you really were. I wish you could see the kids and how much they have grown. They both remind me of you. Marley crosses his legs just like you and Elaina shares your kind spirit. You will always be with us.

I have always known Steve as "The Chief" but more than that he was my friend. I will miss him deeply. When I was young in the Navy, he taught me to play softball, he invited me to the Chiefs Mess to play darts. He helped me fix my first car (back when you still had to gap the plugs). All of this at Bethesda. Camp Lejeune, allowed us to meet again, he invited Kathy and I to his house to meet Deb, where we sat around telling "sea stories" and sharing good times. I truly hope that you carry with you the love of all the Sailors that you influenced over the years. My heart and prayers are with Deb and your family.

A piece of my heart broke when I found out you were gone. You welcomed me to the neighborhood and helped me with the loss of my grandfather before we even really knew one another. I am grateful for all of your kindness, the times you listened, the stories about your life, the toasts we made, the lessons you shared, and so much more. It's devastating to know that you are not here, but we will see one another again my friend. And, it was always a pleasure to see you...

Steve was one of the kindest, warmest personalities I've ever met. That gentle gleam in his eye and genuine, keen interest he took while talking to you is rare. In that way he accomplished what most of us aspire to: leaving the world a better place. May God bless Steve and comfort his family.

September 29, 2010

Always remember what Steve taught us: Every day is a holiday, every meal a feast. Be kind to each other. Deb

September 28, 2010

Stephen, I hope you were pleased with the gathering on sunday. What a crowd huh? The love for you in that room was palpable. As I wrote in your book: You know and I know and that is all that is important. ALWAYS, Deb

Steve, I don't know if I ever thanked you enough for the simple love you gave to me, your step-son. We didn't have much in common except a love of the outdoors, and I'll always treasure the trips to the beach, and to Grand Lake. You and your whole family treated me as your own, I'll remember it always.

Love,

September 25, 2010

Steve,
You left us all too soon buddy. I will never forget all the good times I had the pleasure of sharing with you; watching the games, St. Paddy's day, the famous bloody mary run. Not to mention that smile of yours, the talks, the stories and especially your quick wit. Rest well Bro, you've earned it! Your Azores Amigo..
