1967 - 2017

Age 49, of Cottage Grove, Minn. Died suddenly at work on Tuesday, March 7, 2017. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie and father, Eli; and his aunts, Leah Behme and Sister Ellen O'Connor. He is survived by his wife, Michelle, and daughters Madeline and Megan, all of Cottage Grove; brothers Jerry, Patrick, Robert and Jeffery, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. Tom worked for the Metropolitan Council, and worked for many years in the construction industry, most notably for Rottlund Homes. Tom's fantastic sense of humor and outlook on life will be missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered as a fun-loving husband, father, uncle and friend who was always ready to lend a helping hand. The world will be a little darker without Tom's light in it. The family would especially like to thank Fr. Rick Banker, as well as family, friends and neighbors supporting them. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Rita's Catholic Church, located at 8694 80th St. South in Cottage Grove, with lunch to follow. Visitation is from 9-11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
