Dear JoAnn and Family, Jack and Michele, Carol and Vinnie, Bobby and Cheryl--
We were saddened to learn of Tom's passing. Among many treasured memories are images of little Tommy, still recovering from rheumatic fever, laughing and singing "Ragtime Cowboy Joe," then passing the hat--his precious cowboy hat! With every coin that jingled into the hat, his twinkling eyes and sparkling smile were just as in the photo with this announcement.... He grew up to be a wonderful, caring, generous, unforgettable man.
Please know that we share your sorrow and your loss.
Thinking of you and extending deepest sympathy, with love and prayers,
Mollie Nugent

We were so saddened to hear of Tom's passing as we visited the Mpls Labor Centre today. What a wonderful man who will be missed, yet remembered by many. I will always remember his kindness and concern for others, as well as his smile and laughter. I feel blessed to have called him friend.

We were saddened to hear about Tom's passing. We have many fond Patrick Henry memories which include watching Tom play hockey. Legend has it that during his grade school years, Tom let me wear his cowboy boots in exchange for letting him play with my Lincoln logs. This was when his family lived on Irving Ave. – that was a long time ago.
Our deepest sympathies to you all.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

To the family of Tom and all who are within his realm, we are shocked, saddened and sorry he is gone away from us but can be happpy he is in peace and full of joy now. Tom lives in my memory as one of the nicest guys of the "boys" in my class of '61 at PHH. Rest in peace, Tom, we'll all be there sooner or later! Prayers and love to his family and friends.

I have just returned from Tom's funeral & I know he would of been very proud of the service and all the people who came in his honor. Tom definitely touched my family's life with his kindness & generosity in helping my son during his hockey days with supplying us with hockey equipment when we couldn't afford it, and how he helped Tad get a plumbing job that helped support his way through college. Tom was such a big influence in many of our children's lives. What a great honor to him that he will be missed by many because he touched so many lives.

I was saddened to hear of Tom's sudden passing. It was great to see Tom at our 50th high school class reunion last summer. I had many conversations with him persuading him to come. His story about his "Life after Henry" was interesting to read. My sympathy is extended to his loving family. Peace be to his memory.

"Uncle Tom" was family and a friend to many, and loved by all who knew him. I was deeply saddened when I heard that "Uncle Tom" had passed away. I have so many fond memories of him from my childhood hunting trips with him in Minnesota, to the annual hockey games at New Hope Ice Arena, and the many conversations up at the cabin. "Uncle Tom" always had a way of putting a smile on peoples face and making them laugh. I will miss your laughter and smile up at Deer Camp, "Uncle Tom". To all of "Uncle Tom's" family, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Tom was a special person to many. For the short time that I knew him, hearing of his passing hurt more than I ever expected. Though our time together was limited, while with us, boy did he have a story to tell anytime you'd lend an ear. I will never forget stories / convo's with "Uncle Tom Hansen". The first thing I did when I got the news was go back and listen to a recent voicemail from Tom. It still makes me laugh. Tom had a way of having an impact on all of us and very quickly. Tom, we'll miss you! -I hope God lets you hold post in the pheasant fields of Heaven!
