I will always remember dr Nichols he was the most kindest most loving doctor any could have ever had. He was my mothers doctor and delivered me. And in my doctor, most of my childhood and early adulthood. And he also delivered my son Marc and it was a snowstorm and he had come in at the very end right before I delivered and I´ll never forget him saying. This is my first delivered grand baby of his career. It was the most beautiful experience ever. He was my sons doctor for the first 2 years of his life until my husband and I were stationed in fort Bragg North Carolina. And unfortunately I never seen dr Nicholas again because by the time we came back from the military he was retired. Dr Nicholas will always and forever have a special place in my heart and will always be remembered. Sending a great big hug to his beautiful wife Dodie who was my nurse.

Hey Grandpa!
Well, it's 2016 and I still think about you a lot. My birthday was about a week ago, and now i'm sitting in English "typing" a report on you actually. It's for the final speech! Randomly found this page and saw grandma's, Uncle Jacks and Steve's comments so I thought hey, lets write one too!
I miss you so much and I can't wait to see you again some day!
Love you, Lexi Howes

Bro, there isn't a day that goes by that something doesn't remind me of things we did or talked about. You were always so positive, always had a smile on your face and a good story to tell. I really miss all the time we had together, and am glad we had it. Thank you for being you!
Love ya Bro!

Well Bro, this marks the first year. Gotta tell ya, it wasn't a good one. I missed looking forward to coming up to see, and talk with, you and Dodi. This year gave me time to reflect on all the time we spent together growing up. I have told so many stories of our childhood. I also recalled all the things we did, and all the things we didn't have time to finish. You were a living example of what a "big" brother is all about. A day doesn't go by that I don't think of you and miss you. I love and miss you today and I always will. I will be thinking of you today, as always.
Love ya Bro!

I don't know if you would remember my brother and I. But we were both patients of Dr. Nichols for many many years. I always loved when he would call Papa Smurf on the "phone" (AKA tape dispenser) to get his opinion on things. It was the greatest. I was sad to hear about this. He was a great man and physician and will most certainly be missed by everyone.

Dodie, as you know, Tom and I go back to our grade school days at St. Dominic.
We lost tract of each other after graduation. Then lo and behold in 2008, I received a letter from Tom. I was so glad to hear from him. We continuely kept in touch by email. We planned our 1945 to 1949 class reunion together. And I was so excited to see him again, and to meet you, his loving wife. We kept in touch until his death. WHAT A LOSS! Still, every day I look for an email coming from [email protected]. He never complained about his illness, and was always upbeat. I am, without a doubt, missing him. Dodie, I hope you and your family find peace.

I worked for Dr. Nichols for many years at the Maryland Clinic. He was my own daughter's physician. He was a caring physician and employer, and a very good friend. My best to Doty and his children.

My Aunt was a RN and worked for Dr Nichols at Maryland Clinic in the early 1970's. She recommended him to my family and I was a small child of about 4 years old when I started going to Dr Nichols in about 1972. I still have an autograph book that he signed when I was very small - he wrote his name backwards and held it up to the mirror. I was amazed.
When my litle brother was born in 1983, he started going to Dr Nichols and continued until he retired. When my little brother Randy was small, he needed some stitches and of course he was scared. Dr Nichols carefully put a stitch in his teddy bear just to show him what it would be like. Randy still has that teddy bear with the stitch over 20 some years later.
My whole family adored him and I have the best memories of seeing him my entire childhood and into early adulthood at Maryland Clinic.
Words cannot express the sadness on hearing of his passing and the thoughts of all the Andrews family is with Dr Nichols family.
Please take comfort in knowing he loved and cared for his patients like no other doctor and truly was one of the good guys.
Thank you for your dedication to your patients Dr Nichols. You will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.

I love you more then anything Grandpa. You were always there for me and I know you always will be with me. Just like father said, this Isn't the end, it's the beginning of a new chapter. We had so many good times and I loved every moment we got to spend together in this short life. But it will be ok because some day i will get to see you again in the Kingdom of Heaven. I love you Grandpa.

I would have to go back before 1972, and thank my Mom for the wisest decision she has ever made in picking a physician as good as Nichols... I have the greatest memories going to the 'clinic' and thats not heard of anymore.. He took great care of all of his patients. So great in fact, I kept him as my Dr. and wouldnt see anyone else. Including my pregnancy and birth of my son... And he sure knew how to pick the Best Nurse!!!

Best dr. ever. SO sorry to hear about his passing. We are 2 years older and one year younger, and started going to him in 1962. NEVER wished for anybody ELSE. After he retired, we've NEVER found anybody we liked as well. Condolences to his family, and especially to Dodie, who was his nurse when we first started going there. We'll MISS him. I was a young girl of 17 when Dr Nichols delivered my one and only child, a daughter, on January 26, 1965. Now at 63, it's hard to believe that young handsome doctor was only 14 years older than I was; much too young to leave this earth. Rest in peace, my friend. My condolences to his family.
