Dear Sandy, Carol & I talked about you and Van a couple of weeks ago as we were reading Christmas letters from our friends & relatives. We had such great memories of both of you. We did an internet search and found this site with Van's Obit. We are so sorry to read of his passing. Van & I both shared a passion for good food and fine wine as well as computers. What a life he had for his family to celebrate.
Sandy, if you ever feel like getting in touch with us, our address is PO Box 2091, Mikana, WI 54857. We retired to our lake cottage(after remodeling) in 2001. I teach computers to our Sr. Adults part-time for the Tech College in Rice Lake, WI. Carol & I keep very busy with our many activities. We wish you the best and hope we hear from you.

What wonderful memories you have of your love story.
Not only did Van treat you well, he welcomed your friends with a wonderful smile and a kind and gracious warmth, that always made me feel so special to be a part of your lives.

Van was my Branch Manager at Microdata some 30 years ago. He was always a gentleman with grace and integrity. Everyone who knew Van has wonderful memories of him - and the stories! You two were perfect together. I am honored to have know you both.

I was sorry to hear that Van had passed away. He was certainly a legend and I shall always cherish his kindness and support towards me. Sandy, the relationship you and Van shared is one that is to be admired by all. He will be missed by many.

My Dearest Sandy,
I am saddened by the passing of such a wonderful man, but happy in the knowlege that I was able to share in the last few months of his life on earth.
I looked forward to seeing Van's smiling face each week, and was inspired by his winning ways and contagious enthusiasm for life.

Dear Sister Sandy, Although we knew Van more through you than in person, we did have the pleasure of his company on a few occasions. I never knew a man who was more loved by his wife. Sandy, may you be granted the support of family and friends and strength through this very difficult time of your loss. I found the obit on Van, wonderful...tho I never had the pleasure of meeting Van, I now wish I had, given the obit in the Pioneer Press. He must have been quite a guy.

Sandy, my sincere condolences in the loss of your partner, your friend and your love. Although it has been over 20 years that I worked with him, every time I would see his little car with VBT license plate it would make me smile to remember the support and encouragement he gave me those many years ago.
