We had planned to attend Bill's Funeral Mass today but deeply regret that unplanned circumstances prevented that from happening. I am proud to have been a friend of Bill's since 2nd grade. Except for college, we went to the same schools and in the post-college, pre-marriage years we shared ownership in a sailboat. While we spent more time fixing it than we did sailing it, we had a great time together.
Bill demonstrated outstanding character traits throughout his life, clearly reflecting his strong family background and Catholic education. Bill's devotion to his family was paramount in his life. Nothing was more important to him than Beth, his children and his grandchildren. Liz and I send our prayers and sincere condolences to the entire McEnery family.

Dear Beth and family:
Sorry to read on the Internet about the death of your husband. These things certainly create a sad time for the families. We are currently in Florida until April 1. It has been so long since I have seen you, it would be nice to have a chat. It's a shame that relatives become so distant in this day and age. Life certainly comes up with some difficult hurdles. It was 1985 when my first husband passed away. Our thought and prayers are with you and your family.
