Edwin Casper Obituary

Edwin Anthony Casper, age 58, of Roosevelt, passed away June 23, 2009, at the University Medical Center in Salt Lake City from a massive stroke.
He was born Oct. 17, 1950, in Heber City, Utah, to Arlington "Bun" and Bonnie Fey Casper. He married Davily June Wilkerson on Sept. 30, 1976, in Elko, Nev.
In his early years, Ed grew up on the family farm that had been passed down through two generations. It was working the farm, where he grew his character, the famous "Ed Casper work ethic" that he was so well known for. It was here that he learned the phrase "Can't play 'til the hay is in," and lived his life by it. In 1980, he left his job at the refinery in Roosevelt and started his own welding business, Ed Casper Welding, Inc. During the last nine years , Ed has dedicated the majority of his skills and talents to RNI Trucking, designing and building many of the water trucks RNI uses today. Ed loved his family and he loved being with them. He was especially close to his wife Davily. It has been said more than once that you would never see either of them very far apart, or for very long. Rarely, did one not start a sentence that the other did not finish it. His happiest moments come from when he had his family together, whether it was outdoors and camping or sitting around the kitchen table visiting. He always loved a spontaneous trip and in the last few years he used every opportunity for a "get away" with his wife.
Ed was never more than a phone call away from his friends and neighbors, eager to lend a helping hand. His great sense of humor and quick wit brought laughter to almost any situation. His generosity and kindness welcomed the oldest and newest of friends, equally.
Ed is survived by his wife, Davily, Roosevelt; children, Kenneth Casper, St. George; Edwin (Cathy) Marshall, Kenai, Alaska; Lewis (Ginger) Casper, Roosevelt; Jennie (Jude) Rodriguez, Baltimore, Md.; 13 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; mother, Bonnie Casper, Heber City; brothers, Joe (Ann) Casper, Heber City; and Roy (Lori) Casper, Talmage. He is also survived by his dogs, "Miss Kitty" and "Bear."
He was preceded in death by his father, "Bun."
Funeral services were held Monday, June 29, at the Hullinger Mortuary.
Burial was in the Charleston Cemetery near Heber City. Condolences may be sent and viewed at www.hullingermortuary.com
