LaMarr LaRose Obituary

LaMarr LaRose, age 86, passed away Oct. 22, 2012, at the Uintah Basin Rehabilitation and Sr. Villa.
LaMarr was born June 12 , 1926 in Ft. Duchesne to James Raymond and Lucy Elizabeth Reed LaRose. He married Betty Lorraine Taylor on Jan. 19, 1949, in Whiterocks. She died Feb. 3, 1989.
LaMarr served in the Navy and Marines during WWII. He worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and retired in 1985. He loved being in the mountains, spending time hunting and fishing. He played the guitar and was in a band that played at Bottle Hollow, and other locations, he also was a talented singer. He was a good husband and Betty's needs always came first. In his younger years he enjoyed baseball, was a good pitcher and also liked to bowl. He was a wonderful cook.
He is survived by his children Carl LaRose, Brigham City; Darrell (Patsy) LaRose, Ft. Duchesne; LuDella LaRose, Brigham City; Thelma Barry, Eureka; 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and sister Lupe Duncan, Whiterocks. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Norma Jean Gray, Cleo Shavanaux, Nettie Eker, James LaRose, Jr., and a great-granddaughter, LaSal Reed.
Funeral services were held Oct. 26 at the Ft Duchesne Gym. A wake was held Thursday at the gym.
Burial was in the Reed Cemetery in Farm Creek under direction of the Hullinger Mortuary. Military honors were presented by the VFW of Ft. Duchesne.
