Matthew Lucas "Matt" Mecham

Matthew Lucas Mecham, age 26, of Roosevelt, passed away peacefully July 12, 2012, at the Intermountain Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident that happened Friday, July 6, 2012, at Daniel's Summit.
He was born Feb. 11, 1986, in Roosevelt, to Jody and Michelle Monks Mecham.
Matt's favorite pastimes were welding, video games, goofing and joking around, and dirtbiking. His companion, Ronnie Melo, and their daughter, Kyrie, came first and foremost to him, and he loved all his family and friends deeply and unconditionally. He was always drawn to kids, dogs, and struggling people with his tender and compassionate heart.
He will be missed by us all...greatly, deeply, sweetly, appreciating every dear memory we have of him.
Matt is survived by his sweetheart and companion, Ronnie Melo, his daughter and light of his life, Kyrie Dawn Mecham, both of Ioka; father, Jody (Krista) Mecham, Neola; mother, Michelle (Ralph) Ames, Ioka; brothers, Spike (Joann) Einerson, West Bountiful; Kelly (Lindsey) Mecham, Roosevelt; sisters, Jennifer (Brent) Aumiller, Montes Creek; Jill (Rob) Bird, Idaho Falls, Idaho: Jessica (Charlie) Jackson, Neola; Abbey (Jake) Bird, Roosevelt; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by grandfather, Calvin Monks; and close friends, James and Terry Carey, Jake Rasmussen, and David Perkins.
Funeral services will be held on Tues., July 17 at 11 a.m. at the Baptist Church in Roosevelt. A viewing will be held Tuesday at the church 1 hour prior to the services.
