Judy Pruden Obituary

Judy Kaye Pruden Passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at her home with her family present. Born August 11, 1946 in Nampa, Idaho, the only child of Howard Leland Pruden and Phyliss Katherine Looslie, who both predeceased in an 1980 airplane accident. She had no children and is survived by her husband of 38 years, Charles "Mike" Morgan of Ukiah, Nick & Regina Hauert of Salt Lake City a Aunt and Uncle and sister-in-Law Michele Van Epps (Jim) of Reno. Judy was a graduate of Brigam Young University and Redlands University. She loved to travel, see new things and soak up information that would not be forgotten. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She lived her religion of hard work, high morals, helping others and gave countless volunteer hours in numerous organizations. She was especially proud of giving 20 years of service on the Ukiah Planning Commission and being a founder and organizer of "Pumpkinfest", which she also served for 20 years. Passionate about preserving Ukiah's history and long considered a "lighting rod" on community issues. Her strong sense of doing what was best for the community, not the bottom line, will be greatly missed. A Memorial Service will be held at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1337 So. Dora St. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at 1 p.m. Memorial donations in Judy's name may be made to Hospice of Ukiah. Arrangements are under the direction of the Eversole Mortuary.

I'm so sorry to have heard of Judy's passing. Judy had a strong passion for our little town, a greater passion than I have ever seen. I always enjoyed working with her and she was always willing to help if there was a need. Our community is better for her having been a part of it!

Judy Kaye is a strong presence in my childhood memories. Her visits always meant a family party! I always felt her love and support for me growing up. Judy was an example of a strong, intelligent and accomplished woman. She loved us all like an aunt and kept tabs on us from afar. I will never forget her visit to help with my wedding and giving us a very meaningful gift I treasure to this day. I will miss her stories and endless advice! She was never idle and I'm sure she is still hard at work on the other side of the veil. Love you Judy!

I was truly saddened to hear about Judy's passing. I enjoyed working with her over the years at Pumpkinfest. She was so very passionate about keeping Ukiah the quaint small town that it is. She was never shy about voicing her beliefs but was more then wiling to hear the other side as well. She will be missed.

Judy was a great friend. I will miss her sense of humor and interesting conversations. She was a passionate promoter of the City of Ukiah. Ukiah has suffered a great loss by her passing.
