Joyce Martha Krist

1938 - 2025

Our beloved mother passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025, in Yuma, Arizona, at the age of 87.

Joyce Martha Carlson was born April 30, 1938, at the family farm near Milaca, Minnesota. She graduated in 1956 from Milaca High School.

Joyce married Leroy Kieffer, and they moved to Saint Charles, Minnesota. They were married 16 years and had five children: Michael, David, Melinda, James, and Julie. In the 1970s they divorced, and she moved back to Milaca, Minnesota.

She later married Wesley Krist, where they farmed for years in the area. She later took a job in town at Plastic Products in Princeton, Minnesota, where she worked for many years up until retirement. Wesley passed away in 2006. She then moved to Yuma, Arizona. She spent her summers in Minnesota visiting children and would spend the winters in Yuma.

Joyce is survived by four children: Michael Kieffer (Jill), Melinda Pouliot, James Kieffer (Sarah), Julie Langner (Festus); grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and close friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Clifford Carlson; mother, Elsie Carlson; husband, Wesley Krist; son, David Kieffer; and brothers, Martyn Carlson and Alfred Carlson.

Joyce will be missed by many with her friendly and fun-loving personality. She worked very hard throughout her life.

A Celebration of Life will be Friday, January 16, 2026, at New Life Church in Princeton, Minnesota. Visitation at 10 a.m., service at 11 a.m., with lunch to follow.
