Mickie Tulp Obituary
Mickie's early years were spent in North Branch, MN, where she attended local schools and graduated from North Branch High School in 1968. Her parents, Laverne and Shirley (Lindell) Turnvall, owned the Golden Nugget Cafe in Cambridge, where Mickie's strong work ethic and friendly demeanor first shone. She carried these traits throughout her life, working at K-Bob Cafe, managing the Pine Brook Restaurant, and later owning the Squeakin Clean Cleaning Service until her retirement at the age of 73.
On July 6, 1996, Mickie married the love of her life, John Tulp, in a beautiful ceremony in Princeton. Together they shared a life full of joy, laughter, and cherished moments.
Mickie's interests and hobbies were as colorful as her personality. She was an exceptional baker, known for her delicious fried chicken and her love of canning. She had a flair for crafting, a passion for shopping, and an eye for fashion that ensured she always took pride in her appearance. Mickie enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and Utah, and she was a regular at the casino, where her luck and love for free coupons were well-known. Live music brought joy to her heart, and her creative spirit was evident in everything she did.
Mickie was preceded in death by her parents, her infant daughter Julie, her son Jeffrey, and her brothers Jackie and Mitchell Turnvall.
Mickie's memory will be lovingly carried on by her husband, John Tulp of Princeton; daughter, Jennifer Larsen of Minneapolis; stepchildren, Amy Tulp (Dylan Howard) of Cambridge and Steve (Heidi) Tulp of Princeton; grandchildren, Andrew (Jenny) Tulp, Ryan (Katie) Tulp, Jon (Azucena Nava) Tulp, Derek (Destiny) Tulp, Brennan Butler, Sara Butler, and Jaxson Rodrigues; great grandchildren, John, Raleigh, Maddilynn, and Wendell; brother, Jeff Turnvall of Mora; sister-in-law, Mitzi Turnvall of North Branch; and the many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Memorial Service 1PM, Friday, September 12, 2025 at Carlson-Lillemoen Funeral Home in Cambridge. Visitation one hour before the service. Online condolences at www.carlsonlillemoen.com.
