JONESVILLE — Alee Lindsay Walker, 86, 144 Dover Road, Jonesville, SC died on Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014 at her home after an illness.
Ms. Walker was the wife of the late James M. Walker. She was born Nov. 4, 1928, a daughter of the late Odell Lindsay Walker. Ms. Walker was a member of Bethany AME Church where she was a Mother of the Church, Sunday School teacher, and Missionary. She was educated in Union County Schools and retired from Union Mill.
She is survived by a son, Marshall Walker of the home; daughters, Hazel (Thomas) Hughes, Betty (Robert) Glenn, Marilyn (James) Means, all of Union, SC, Debra Ann Walker of the home, Cathy (Walter) Glenn, Shirley Thomas and Mae Francis Sims, all of Jonesville, SC; sisters, Fannie Mae Means of Jonesville, SC, Barbara (Shad Earle) Ross of High Point, NC; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at Bethany AME Church, Jonesville, SC on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Clinton J. Hall II officiating. Burial will be in Bethany AME Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Saturday from noon-7 p.m. at Union Community Funeral Home.
The family is at the home, 144 Dover Road, Jonesville, SC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bethany AME Church Building Fund in remembrance of Ms. Alee Walker.
Union Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
