Sherry Gregory
JONESVILLE — Mrs. Sherry Jo Lipsey Gregory, 72, wife of Danny Ray Gregory, 301 Forest Street, Jonesville, surrounded by her family, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, October 5, 2017.
Mrs. Gregory was born in Union County, SC June 25, 1945, a daughter of the late Frank Lipsey and Bernice Petty Lipsey. She was a graduate of Jonesville High School and retired as a teachers' aide at Jonesville Elementary-Middle School following thirty plus years. Upon retirement, Mrs. Gregory continued as a volunteer. She was a member of Jonesville Baptist Church where she was a member of Claudia Coleman Sunday School Class, the Miriam Soto Circle, Happy Hearts and a member of the choir. Around the Jonesville area and the schools, she was known as "Miss Sherry," one of the Wildcats #1 Fans.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Tara G. Bright and husband Jeffrey of Union and Nicki G. Ivey and husband Jim of Jonesville; a sister, Jane L. Addis of Jonesville; five grandchildren, Jacey, Jenna and Caleb Bright, Tyler Rector and Nickolas Ivey; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Gregory was predeceased by a daughter, Jennifer Carol Gregory; two sisters, Dot Moss, Frances Holt; and a brother, Bud Lipsey.
Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Jonesville Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Scott Cannon, Rev. Dr. Jim Spencer and Rev. Ralph Brown. Burial will be in Gilead Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Jeff Addis, Donald Addis, Steven Addis, Jared Addis, Gene Lipsey, David Lipsey, Steve Beheler and Tyler Rector. The past and present faculty and staff of Jonesville Elementary-Middle School are asked to sit in a group.
Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. Saturday in the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jonesville Baptist Church Happy Hearts or the Mission Team, P.O. Box 279, Jonesville, SC 29353.
The family is at the home of her daughter, Tara and Jeffrey Bright, 115 Haney Cemetery Rd., Union, SC 29379.

My sincere condolences to Sherry's family and loved ones. Sherry always reached out to those who needed a loving touch and sympathy. Her service to others is apparent to those of us who knew her.
