1965 - 2013
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victoria (Vicki) Jacobs Honegger on November 16, 2013. She passed peacefully and surrounded by family and friends at the Montreal General Hospital, on a beautiful sunny morning. Vicki will be greatly missed by her loving family. Her husband Keith, Zachary and Tanner sons she adored, her sister Cindy, her mother Daintre, father Reggie, her brother-in-law Doug and Stacey, best friends Kim and Mike. She will also be missed by her aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends. Vicki lived her life to the fullest and had incredible passion for everything that came into her life including her gardening, art and especially her dogs, Tonka, Bandit and Scout. Many thanks to all the family, friends and medical professionals in Montreal including Dr. Maunders, Dr. Thirwell, Dr. Meterissian, and Sonia Bustillo and in Boston especially Maria Kingston, Katie Post, Dr. Baselga and Dr. Isakoff who helped support her in her fight against breast cancer over the last 3 years. We know all her hard work and sacrifice will help others who face the challenges in the future. Vicki your courage and strength throughout your treatment, truly demonstrated your lust for life. The world was a much better place with you there. You are truly our hero!!! In lieu of flowers, we ask that you please make a donation in Vicki's name to the Canadian Cancer Society. There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Sucrerie de la Montagne, 300 Chemin St. Georges, Rigaud, Qc. from 2- 7 p.m. Please dress casual this will be a celebration, in true Vicki fashion cowboy boots will be permitted.

Vicky was my closest friend in college. I liked her the instant I met her. I remember visiting her parents in Hudson, they had a dog named Smudger I think. We rode Cornflakes together, I ran with her a few times when she was training for her marathon. She would pull all nighters doing snow removal and school assignments. I was amazed at how much she could handle. Vicky was amazing. She was bridesmaid at my wedding and she and Keith were married the following week. Eventually we both moved away and lost touch. I was just reaching out to find her when I saw her obit.
Keith, I am so deeply sorry for you and the boys. Vicky and you were meant to be. Cindy, Daintre and Reg I am so sorry for your loss. Your family was very special to me. Please accept my deepest condolences.

The last time I saw Vicky we were in high school. She was a wonderful person and always had good things to say to people. She also had a great outlook on life. She was always smiling.

I still miss Vicki so much! The hours we spent together working side by side our thoughts always similar and familiar it was like we shared the same skin! She called me one of her angels (as she had so many ) , thankful that I would show up somehow just when she needed! She made us all feel special!

Day 399, & I still cannot believe you are not with me. You are forever in my thoughts. It is Christmas in a few days, and if I close my eyes I can see you sitting on your couch, legs curled up under you, Bandit in your lap, tea (that disgusting Earl Grey stuff, yuck) or coffee (that yummy Tim Horton from the pyramid of cans stacked beside the kitchen counter) in your hand, Scout & Tonka curled at your feet, (all wearing red bandanas cause it is Christmas time) squeezing in a close as they can, cause you know they want to be in your lap too, & if you could fit them, they'd be there. You would be admiring the creativity of your decorated Christmas tree, (move that ornament one inch to left, right Tanner). I'd be worrying over some thing beyond my control & you'd be right there in the moment. I can see the sun pattern across the living room from the big picture windows, the fire would be going, because either you or Tanner would have lit it cause I don't do the cold quite as well as you guys. Always appreciated the little extra you did for me, I did appreciate it, always will. Missing you doesn't quite seem to cover it... I will always believe in the Christmas spirit & yours too Tic. 143 xxoo

Dear Aunty Daint, Uncle Reg, Cindy, Keith, Zachary and Tanner,
Words cannot even begin to express the sadness we are feeling. Vicky brought so many gifts to our lives.
I have fond memories of when we were younger. Sleepovers, horseback riding, the barn we played in. The best dance routine the four of us (You, Cindy, Sheri and I) did to Barbara Striesand's 'Sam You've Made the Pants too long'. Also memories of the 2 of us moving to the big city of Toronto and going to Humber College.
Life is too short and Vicky has left us too soon.
May the sorrow you feel in your heart lighten by the love that surrounds you.
Vicky will be forever remembered, forever missed.

I am so deeply saddened to hear about the loss of my dearest and best friend from LTM. I have so many fond memories of us commiserating and laughing as silly teenage girls do. Even though time put a distance between us, I hold close to my heart her warmth, spirit for life, her love of family, her talent for art and athletics and her love of the outdoors.
I felt blessed to know her...a beautiful soul who left us too soon.

Vickie and I were childhood friends. I have amazing memories of running around the farm where she grew-up with her sister Cindy, singing along to Neil Sadaka songs, swimming and sliding at the nearby hill. As often happens in life as we got older we lost touch. I was shocked to hear the news. She left an everlasting and memorable impression and I will always remeber that amazing smile.

I wanted to be just like Vicki when I was young. She was so pretty, popular and talented, plus she had horses and could ski like a pro!
