ADELE "BABE" GIBSON

1940 - 2024

Adele "Babe" Gibson, 91, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2024. Babe was born in San Francisco, California, in 1933 to Tony and Adele Puhar. The family moved to Sonora, California, in 1940.
Babe was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Bob Gibson, in 2018; her father, Tony Puhar, in 1981; her mother, Adele Puhar, in 1995; and her sister, Barbara Radovich, in 2012.
Babe enjoyed serving others and for many years made her banana bread for the homeless and needy through her church, Sierra Bible Church. She also made many quilts and distributed them to the same outlets. Her family was so important to her, they loved her cooking and spending time together at her Lake Almanor summer home. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Babe is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Jed and Lisa Gibson, of San Leandro, and Clay Gibson, of Stockton; grandchildren Jennifer Rhodes and her husband, David, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Joshua Gibson, of Redding, Grant Gibson, of Stockton, and Kelli Karpinski and her husband, Josh, of Stockton; great-granddaughters Hadley and Everly Gibson, of Redding, and Olivia Karpinski, of Stockton; and her niece, Cheryl Banducci, and her husband, Jim, of Modesto.
At her request, a family gathering and spreading of her ashes has taken place. Her faith was one of the most important parts of her life, so at her request, donations may be made to Sierra Bible Church in Sonora or Lake Almanor Community Church in Lake Almanor.
