LAWRENCE ROTELLI Memoriam

Larry Rotelli passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a short battle with pancreatic cancer on Friday, July 19.
Born on Dec. 1, 1960, in Sonora, California, to Kathleen (Rotelli) Kannikeberg and Delbert Rotelli, Larry grew up in Sonora and went on to graduate from Sacramento State in 1984. He worked for Save Mart from the time he was 16 until his retirement in 2020. It was while working there and opening a new store in Tracy in 1984 that he met his future wife, Tracie (Weitz) Rotelli. They would go on to marry in 1990 and spend 34 wonderful years together.
Larry's biggest passion in life was his family. He was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, and grampa. After his retirement, he and Tracie traveled the world, from basketball games in Denver to Christmas markets in Germany. If they weren't currently on an adventure then they were planning their next one.
One of the roles Larry took the most pride in was Grampa. Declan's favorite place to be was riding around on Grampa's shoulders. He and Ezra set a record riding Shark Reef Plunge 30 times in a row at Great America last summer and were hoping to beat it this year before his cancer diagnosis.
Larry is survived by his wife, Tracie Rotelli; his two sons Brett Rotelli and Avery Rotelli; his daughter, Nina Craig; his son-in-law, Joseph Craig; his parents Kathleen Kanikkeberg and Delbert Rotelli, his stepmother, Nancy Rotelli; and his two grandsons, Ezra Craig and Declan Craig.
He was predeceased by his sister, Vicki Rotelli.
A funeral service will begin 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, at Our Lady of Fatima,
505 W. Granger Ave., Modesto, California, followed by a celebration of life at The California Ballroom, 432 6th St., Modesto.

My name is Martin Lilly,
I was sadden to hear the news of Larry's passing from Jan Apland. We all went to Sonora Elementary School together and on to high school. We lost touch over the years, but I have fond memories of Larry. He ALWAYS had a smile on his face and friendly to everyone. He was very good with the sarcastic comments. I got to visit him at Sac State while competing against them, and he had not changed a bit! He had an incredible sports knowledge and memory. We used to play Sports Illustrated Baseball on our lunch break at Sonora Elementary. He would always laugh at our choice of players! We'd also watch the World Series on our lunch hour. I saw my first live college football game at Stanford with Larry on a field trip with Mr. Rolley in Grammer school. We made a huge poster and were on ABC sports' coverage of the game when they showed our poster!
I had hoped to get to see him again. I know his kids, family and his parents know how great a person Larry was. He will not be forgotten because we will never forget him. Rest in Peace my friend.

It is with much sadness that I read of Larry's passing. He was a great person, having lived in Sonora and knowing the family. Know that your family is in my thoughts and prayers. Blessing, Margaret Sciaroni & Family

My name is Keeley Erickson Williams. I knew Larry from high school. I have sweet memories of him and his kindness. He was one of those guys that never said an unkind word about anyone. I also loved his dry sense of humor. He could always make me laugh.
