Ana Oriol Obituary

Ana Maria Figueroa Roa Oriol, 76, of Auburn, NH, passed away at home surrounded by her family on August 20th, 2022. She was born on February 1st, 1946 to the late Luis Figueroa & Ana Roa, and would go on to marry Edner Oriol Jr. With whom she shared over 50 years of marriage.

Ana Maria was born and raised in Chile and was forever proud of her Chilean heritage. She would go on to obtain her bachelor's degree in teaching in Chile. While visiting her beloved aunt Marta in New York City, she met her future husband, Edner. After living in New York City and Chile, they relocated their young family to Derry, New Hampshire. In Derry she raised her two boys Gilbert & Andre and would remain there until recently retiring in Auburn. Ana Maria loved New Hampshire for its natural beauty and comforts of home.

Those who knew Ana Maria, knew her as a quiet yet strong willed woman who loved fiercely the people closest to her, as well as her cats. Family was everything to Ana Maria, as she was always happiest when her family was at her side. Ana Maria also loved to garden with her husband Edner, especially her flowers and beloved canna lilies, and was proud of her garden in Derry. She also loved the ocean, going for nice long walks and the simple joys of home. Throughout her life, Ana Maria maintained a strong devotion to her faith, which was always a source of comfort and guidance throughout her life. Ana Maria will be deeply missed by her family and loved ones.

Ana Maria is survived by her husband Edner Oriol Jr.; son Gilbert Oriol and his wife Lilly Esparza; son Andre Oriol and his wife Corinne Potvin-Oriol; grandson Esteban Oriol; as well as many extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Ana Maria's life will be held on Saturday, August 27 from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover St. Manchester, NH.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ana Maria's memory may be made out to the ASPCA to support an animal in need.

Ana Maria and I loved the teaching of Christ Jesus as shared in our membership in our Derry Christian Science Church. We also loved gardening. She introduced this wild Azaelea loving Californian to the glories of Canas and gave me the bulbs to beautify my home and very specific directions as to prepare the soil them. Edner's and Ana Maria's gardens on Craven Street in Derry were glorious and I loved to wander their garden paths and wonder at the flowers!! She loved the Christian Science Monitor which served as a springboard to our invigorating political discussions. She is remarkable individual.
