Andrew Dempski Obituary

Andrew H. Dempski, also fondly known as "Bud", 81, passed away on October 29, 2023 at his home in Fremont, NH, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 14, 1942 in Haverhill, MA, son of the late Andrew Dempski and A. Lillian (Horgan) Dempski.

Bud grew up in Haverhill, MA and was one of four children in his family. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA in the Class of 1960. Bud also earned his drafting certification through Mass Trade in Boston, MA. Starting with his training at the MIT Instrumentation Lab, his drafting career spanned many years, including five years at Raytheon and 15 years at Digital Equipment Corporation. He then changed careers and became the owner of the Kingston Hardware Store for just under 10 years. Additionally, he served as WIDIP facilitator and coordinator at the Amethyst Foundation in Epping, NH.

Bud married the love of his life, Joyce Simard, on October 5, 1963. They raised four daughters together and resided for a short time in Haverhill, MA and Old Lyme, CT before moving to Exeter, NH in 1966. Bud and Joyce have lived in Fremont, NH for the past 18 years.

Bud and Joyce are communicants of St. Michael Church in Exeter, NH. Bud's hobbies included motorcycle riding, taking his boat out fishing, and playing golf at several local courses. He was an avid car enthusiast who loved driving his Corvette, watching NASCAR, and operating radio-controlled cars. His racing talents won him several trophies at local competitions. He was mechanically-minded, which enabled him to complete beautiful household renovations.

In addition to his parents, Bud was predeceased by his brother, Gerald Dempski; his sister, Helen Ober; and his son-in-law, Thomas Levenson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce Dempski; his sister and her husband, Alice and Wayne Hawksworth; his eldest daughter and her husband, Christine and John Swenson; his daughter, Suzanne Dempski; his daughter and her husband, Stephanie and David Marrama; his daughter, Andrea Levenson; his four grandchildren, Aaron, Nathan, Tori, and Kaitlyn; his great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There are no calling hours.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Church, located at 9 Lincoln Street, Exeter, NH.

Fr Daniel was our friend at St A's (his Halloween Darth Vader was epic), said our wedding, etc. He often spoke of his family so I feel as if I know you all. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy in your loss. I hope you're comforted in knowing all the joy that is Bud's in Heaven. I know Fr Daniel is welcoming his brother home with some outrageous joke.  God bless you,

I am so sad to hear of Bud's passing. He holds a special place in my heart. We have not worked together in years but I still chuckle when I think about him. No matter what kind of day I was having, he was always able to make me smile. He was a genuine man who truly cared what others had to say. I am thankful that I got to spend so many years working with him. Joyce, my heart goes out to you, the girls, and the family.
