Barbara Egan Obituary

MANCHESTER - Barbara I. (Hardy) Egan, 92, of Manchester, died Jan. 1, 2015 at Hanover Hill Health Care Center after a period of declining health.

She was born in Plainfield, N.J. on June 18, 1922 to Harold and Katherine (O'Neil) Hardy. She lived in New York City and Manchester for many years.

During World War II she served in the Women's Army Corps.

Barbara enjoyed gardening and painting and was a former member of the Manchester Artists Association.

She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Polly Thorner.

The family includes three nephews, David Woodcock of Florida, Stephen Woodcock and his wife, Susan, of Hooksett and Richard Thorner and his wife, Ann, of Manchester; a great nephew, Jonathan Woodcock and a great niece, Katherine Thorner..

services: There are no calling hours. Private burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in West Roxbury, Mass., at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
