Bradley Jackson Obituary

JAFFREY -- Bradley C. "Brad" Jackson, 45, of Jaffrey, died Feb. 17, 2011.

He was born in Hartford, Conn., April 17, 1965, son of Peter and Margaret (Peard) Rivard. He was a 1983 graduate of St. Bernard High School in Fitchburg, Mass.

He followed in his grandfather, Norman "Red" Peard's, footsteps after spending countless hours riding with and working alongside him doing excavation work. He founded Bradley C. Jackson, Excavating Contractor, and built many houses and housing developments in the Monadnock Region. Later, he owned and operated Jackson Energy in Keene.

In addition to his parents, family members include his wife, Sadie (Halliday) Jackson; daughters Nicole, Lucy, and Sarah, all of Jaffrey; son Timothy of Jaffrey; sisters Heidi P. Rousseau and Julia M. Bartlett, both of Jaffrey, and Elizabeth R. Kelly of New Boston; brother David P. Rivard of Jaffrey; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.

IN HIS LIFE: Brad was very talented and an intuitive learner. He could figure out how anything worked and fix it with his own hands and hard work. He was also very clever and patient and would painstakingly restore his many antiques to showroom condition. He was a well-known collector of antique vehicles, gas pumps, and signs. Brad also found great joy through his son's racing endeavors and successes with go-karts and cars.

Brad cared deeply for his children and family. He was a very sensitive and caring man who cherished all the friendships he had developed over the years.

SERVICES: Calling hours are today from 3 to 6 p.m. in Cournoyer Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 33 River St., (Route 202 South) Jaffrey. The funeral is Monday at 2 p.m. in First Church in Jaffrey, 14 Laban Ainsworth Way, Jaffrey Center. The Rev. Robert Kyte, pastor, will be the officiant. Burial in Conant Cemetery will take place in the spring. A webcast of the service will be available for viewing on his online memorial page at www.cournoyerfh.com beginning Feb. 22. Family and friends are also encouraged to share memories of Brad, photographs, and condolences with the family as well.

Archie and I extend deepest sympathy to ALL the family. We are so sad and in disbelieve. Our hearts ache for all family and friends. Brad was always an entrepreneur like his grandfather Red. We will hold the beautiful scene of Brad holding his daughter's hand at the cruise nights at Kimball Farm. We always enjoyed talking with him especially about his old cars.
Tim, we are so sad for you and may you find comfort is your many happy memories of good times with your Dad.
Peggy and Peter, it is not suppose to be this way and we hurt with you. Brad was a handsome young man - gone from your presence way too soon.
Love and comfort to all, Archie and Helen Coll
