Constance Hébert Obituary

Constance Gabrielle Hébert, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2025. Constance was born on April 17, 1935 in Somersworth, NH to Arthur and Reina (Laliberte) Bernier, and went on to graduate from High School in Manchester, NH. She later met and married Louis Hébert. They shared 63 years of love, partnership, and countless memories, a testament to the enduring bond of their marriage. Together they had one daughter, Nicole (Hébert) Pennell.

Before spending a significant amount of time working at Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), where she contributed to the Department of Education and Student Activities, she started her career as an executive assistant in banking. In appreciation of her contributions to the College, the SNHU Alumni presented her with the Distinguished Service to Alumni Award in 2022.

Constance took pride in her Franco-American heritage and was passionate about Franco-American genealogy. As a volunteer and Board Member of the American-Canadian Genealogical Society (ACGS), she helped preserve historical documents and made valuable information accessible to those tracing their family history.

As a long-time communicant at Saint Catherine of Siena Church, she found peace and strength from the rituals of faith, actively engaging in Mass and church social events.

Constance enjoyed baking, gardening, bird watching, and solving crossword puzzles in her later years, but her greatest joy was spending time with family. Known for her kind smile, sense of humor, and helpfulness, she touched many lives by helping neighbors, friends, and family.

In addition to her brother Raymond, Constance had regular contact with a number of nieces and nephews. She also kept up relationships with several families in her area and with her coworkers, and classmates who were very important to her. The world seems quieter without her, but we take comfort in knowing she is at peace, always loved, and will never be forgotten.

Constance was predeceased by her parents, Reina and Arthur Bernier, Sr., her husband, Louis Hébert, and her brother Arthur Bernier, Jr. Surviving family members are her brother, Raymond Bernier, daughter, Nicole (Hébert) Pennell, son-in-law Paul Pennell, and grandson Alexandre Pennell.
