David Mehlhorn Obituary
Born in Manchester, NH on September 13, 1950, David was the son of Harold and Catherine Mehlhorn. He resided in New Hampshire and Florida.
David graduated from Manchester Memorial High School, Class of 1969.
David was very passionate about creating and building. After an early start in construction, his creativity and what used to be a large field in Litchfield, NH led him to designing and building Tee-Off at Mel's. The miniature golf course was David's masterpiece as his designs reflected landmarks within the state of New Hampshire. David, aka: Mel, sold Tee-Off at Mel's in 2006 when he retired with his wife, Patricia (Pattee) Mehlhorn.
David enjoyed being with family and friends who brought him endless joy and happiness. David "Mel" had an infectious smile and laugh that would bring happiness to all who were around him. His passion for the New England Patriots was above all the most competitive aspect of Mel's life. Each Sunday after attending church, Mel enjoyed watching the NE Patriots games with his wife and dog Brady.
Family members include his wife of 25 years, Patricia (Palmer Sorace) Mehlhorn; three children, Dean C. Mehlhorn and his wife Melora of New Boston, N.H., Stacy A. Sobo and her husband Ethan of Deerfield, N.H., and Benjamin Sorace III and his wife Rachel of Spring, Texas; five grandchildren: Devin Quirk, Spencer Mehlhorn, Paige Mehlhorn, Aidan Quirk, and Benjamin Sorace IV; two sisters; many nieces and nephews; and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held at a date and place to be announced.
